In the United States, there is no central higher education system that is valid in every state across the country, like the Council of Higher Education in Turkey. Each state has its own authorized institution that determines education policies. Each educational institution has its own individual admission requirements and rules. Unlike Turkey, many higher education institutions are called Colleges. A student who completes the 12th grade and receives a high school diploma can continue his undergraduate education. After graduating from high school, the student can apply to two places:

ASSOCIATE AND UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION IN AMERICA

Community College (Vocational School or Associate Degree Education)
These schools provide vocational education-oriented education for two years. A student who completes 60 credits and graduates graduates with an Associate of Arts (A.A) or Associate of Science (A.S) degree. These schools also offer technical and vocational training opportunities. The best part of these schools; After graduation, if the necessary conditions are met, it provides the student with the opportunity to transfer to a 4-year school. This way, after studying the first 2 years of a bachelor's degree school at a community college, you can transfer to a 4-year school and get a bachelor's degree. Studying at "Community College" is financially easier than studying at 4-year schools. In addition, another plus is that the application process and admission requirements are easier.

Universities Four-Year Undergraduate Education
Students can continue their education at four-year universities after high school education. The degree obtained at the end of this four-year education becomes a bachelor's degree called Bachelor's Degree. A student who successfully completes an average of 120 credits and graduates receives a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or Bachelor of Science (B.S) diploma. In order to enter 4-year schools, the student must meet the application requirements requested by the university. Students who take the necessary exams, complete the necessary documents and meet the requirements can apply to the universities of their choice.

MASTER EDUCATION IN AMERICA

The first step of postgraduate education, called "Graduate Study" in the United States, is a master's degree. After undergraduate studies, it generally requires the completion of 30-36 credits and usually the preparation of a master's thesis. In some master's programs, a master's degree is obtained by taking the final exam instead of the thesis. Master's degrees are awarded as Master of Arts (M.A.) for Social Sciences fields and Master of Science (M.S.) for Science and Engineering fields. However, some master's degrees are denoted by abbreviations that indicate fields, such as Master of Fine Arts (MFA), Master of Business Administration (MBA).

DOCTORAL EDUCATION IN AMERICA

While Doctoral education, which is the second stage of postgraduate education, generally requires three or four years of study and research on postgraduate education, this process may take longer, especially in research-oriented fields. During doctoral education, it is required to prepare a doctoral thesis in a field that has not been studied before. At the end of the studies, the “Doctorate Degree”, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), is awarded. On the other hand, there are also doctoral degrees such as Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A), which are awarded according to the field of study.

Why Study in America?

Quality: United States colleges are world-renowned for the quality of their facilities, faculty, and resources. Accreditation systems ensure that institutions maintain these standards. Keeping up with the development of technology raises the quality standards of these colleges.

Option: More than 4,600 accredited educational institutions offer students the chance to receive advanced education in many independent fields, social environments and endless academic programs.

Diversity: The most important feature and strength of higher education in America lies in its diversity. Nowhere in the world can students be provided with such freedom in choosing their field of study and approach as in America.

Value: A wide range of tuition and living costs and some financial aid from universities have made studying in the United States possible for thousands of international students before you.

Flexibility: One of the hallmarks of American universities and colleges is the flexibility in choosing courses at a college or university. However, what is more important is the option offered to students to transfer from one institution to another. It is very common to complete the first two years of a degree at one institution, usually a community college, and then transfer to another.
