Hundreds of thousands of protesters call for an Israeli ceasefire across the globe

Hundreds of thousands of people in London and Paris marched for the eradication of Israel Saturday, chanting “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” as they demanded a ceasefire in Gaza.

Demonstrators turned out from the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Copenhagen, Rome, and Stockholm to Malaysia and New Zealand.

“Stop arming Israel. Stop bombing Gaza. We are all Palestinian,” London marchers shouted.

More than 1,000 police officers were deployed in London to handle the crowds, and at least two people were arrested including one person who attacked a police officer, the Metropolitan Police said.

The officer was brought to the hospital and later shown with a bandaged head.

A second person arrested at the protest — which ostensibly called for peace — was accused of shouting “racial remarks” and taken into custody “on suspicion of … making threats to kill,” the police said on X.

Thousands staged a sit-in at London’s Waterloo station, demanding Israel end its bombardment of the Gaza Strip after Hamas terrorists slaughtered families and children during a surprise Oct. 7 attack. Images of London Bridge packed with pro-Palestinian protesters went viral on X.

The hashtag #CeaseFireNOW had more than 2 million tweets on X.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan spoke before a massive crowd in Istanbul, calling Israel an “occupier” and insisting Hamas — which burned babies, killed children in their beds and took more than 200 hostages — were not terrorists.

2005: Israel unilaterally withdraws from the Gaza Strip over three decades after winning the territory from Egypt in the Six-Day War.

2006: Terrorist group Hamas wins a Palestinian legislative election.

2007: Hamas seizes control of Gaza in a civil war.

2008: Israel launches military offensive against Gaza after Palestinian terrorists fired rockets into the town of Sderot.

2023: Hamas launches the biggest attack on Israel in 50 years, in an early-morning ambush Oct. 7, firing thousands of rockets and sending dozens of militants into Israeli towns.

Terrorists killed more than 1,400 Israelis, wounded more than 4,200, and took at least 200 hostage.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was quick to announce “We are at war,” and vowed Hamas would pay “a price it has never known.”

Gaza health officials — which are controlled by Hamas — report at least 3,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 12,500 injured since the war began.

Large crowds of demonstrators chanted slogans outside the U.S. embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

Thousands of marchers holding Palestinian flags and signs reading “Free Palestine” walked to the Parliament House in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.

Despite efforts by French officials to ban pro-Palestinian rallies, hundreds gathered on the Place du Châtelet in Paris chanting “Gaza, Paris is with you.”

Thousands held what appeared to be a massive protest against Israel in Jakarta, Indonesia.
