Who would be the starting QB instead of Burrow?
Burrow's possible absence would mean Jake Browning's first start in the NFL . Additionally, the team signed Reid Sinnett and veteran AJ McCarron to the practice squad to be replacements in case Browning has to leave the game against the Rams.
Browning turned pro in 2019 when he joined the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted rookie and since 2021 has been a part of the Bengals' practice squad. This year he saw activity for the first time in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns.
Sinnett is a 26-year-old QB who has not debuted in the NFL , but has been part of the practice squads of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles. For his part, McCarron is a 33-year-old veteran who spent six seasons in the league , split between the Bengals, Raiders and Texans.
