New Yakuza Game Goes Full Animal Crossing

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth will feature a side activity called Dondoko Island, similar to the Animal Crossing game. Dondoko Island features an island life simulation that gives characters a chance to relax, separate from the usual crime-ridden chaos of the Yakuza series.

Introduced during the Xbox Partner Preview, Dondoko Island is a side event that will be available in Episode 6 of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Ichiban will go to the small island where he can collect resources, fish and decorate. Dondoko Island seems to have a ton of depth, allowing you to both buy and make decorations for not just your own home, but the entire island.

The island decoration also looks quite deep. Gameplay demonstrates the ability to customize not only the interior of your home but also the surrounding exterior, with the option to create paths and add features such as fountains.

You can build a town on Dondoko Island that will allow guests to stay there. The game displays a resort rating as well as a popularity meter. Of course, there's still a bit of a Yakuza feel to it, as you'll have to defend the resort from unwanted intruders. There are huge decorations to build and campfire parties, too, so Dondoko Island should take a nice breather from taking down Hawaii's criminals.
